Background

Ms Jasmine is a Registered Psychologist with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP) and an approved Clinical Supervisor with SRP and the Singapore Association of Counsellors (SAC). She is currently attaining her Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) from the USA and is also a member of the Golden Key International Honours Society. She holds professional membership with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and the American Psychological Association (APA).

In addition to her clinical practice, Ms Jasmine provides clinical supervision to mental health professionals with a varied background of psychology, counselling and social work. She is also a Lecturer/ Clinical supervisor for the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters level counselling students.

Ms Jasmine is skilled in working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties and their families as well as children with additional needs. She also has experience working with adults and women with perinatal mood difficulties.Furthermore, she has a special interest in the area of infant mental health, parenting and attachment work.

Ms Jasmine is an all-rounded practitioner as evident by her involvement in various research projects. She had presented a paper on “Increasing self-determination skills through the use of the individualized transition plan for students with mild intellectual disability in Singapore” at the Asian Federation on Intellectual Disability (AFID). She also presented another paper on “Patient and family’s perspective on factors that promote recovery in adolescent depression in Singapore: A qualitative study” at the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professionals World Congress (IACAPAP)

Prior to joining SBCC Child Development, Ms Jasmine was working with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists and clinical counsellors specializing in enhancing the mental wellness of women and children. She was instrumental in the development and growth of the Child and Adolescent Mental Wellness Services (CAMWS) at KK Women and Children’s Hospital. On top of that, she also spearheaded and collaborated on projects and trainings with key partners such as the Ministry of Education, Health Promotion Board and various Family Service Centers to promote mental health awareness, resiliency and advocacy.

Ms Jasmine is person-centered in her approach with clients and is trained in a myriad of psychotherapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Choice Theory and Reality Therapy (CTRT), Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy, Dialetic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, The Gottman Method, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Circle of Security Parenting. She is passionate in helping individuals realize their true potential and work with them to minimize, remove or overcome the stumbling blocks that stand in their way.
