Common Questions

What should I do after finding out I am pregnant?

After a positive pregnancy test, arrange your first antenatal appointment to confirm the pregnancy and discuss your early pregnancy care. Let the clinic know if you have an existing medical condition, take regular medication, or experience bleeding or significant abdominal pain.

Can I continue my antenatal care at SBCC if I started elsewhere?

Yes. Bring any previous medical records, blood test results and ultrasound reports to your appointment so our specialist can review your pregnancy care to date and advise on the next steps.

What should I do if a pregnancy complication is identified?

Arrange an obstetric review so the concern can be properly assessed and monitored. Our specialist can assess conditions such as gestational diabetes, pregnancy-related high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia or foetal growth concerns. Depending on your needs, additional monitoring, tests or coordinated hospital care may be recommended.

Does obstetric care continue after delivery?

Yes. Postnatal follow-up may include reviewing your recovery, discussing ongoing symptoms and addressing health concerns that arise after childbirth.
